Your security is as important to you as the valuables you have. You normally think about security measures when you have something of value. In today’s economic crisis, which leads to high crime levels, everything you own is valuable. However, the most valuable possession is life and family.
There has been a wrong notion that you only require security guards if you have a lot of money. Sometimes you may find that you have to hire a security guard to protect you, your family or your property. Guards are good since they are trained to ensure your safety. They have knowledge of your property and its surroundings as well as your movements. They can respond to emergencies, fires, crimes, alarm triggers, medical emergencies and other calamities. This is what you should expect from your guard:
- They understand their responsibility
Your security guard has the responsibility of protecting you at all times. This includes detecting suspicious behaviour in your normal life. They keep trespassers off your properties and investigate any suspicion. They work 24 hours a day unless authorized otherwise.
- Make sure that they are well-trained
Your security guard should be having some response skills in case any thing happens. This includes driving, operating weapons, operating cameras, fire hazard procedures, and accidents response. They should have a good knowledge of their surrounding at all times.
Some security guards require special training. This includes drivers of armoured trucks, government employees and Special Forces. This is because they work in a high-risk field that requires them to be extra cautious.
- They should have an open protection policy
Your security guard will know everything about you. Therefore, you should also know everything about them. Know their names and personal details. Never trust a security guard who hides information from you since he or she may be malicious. Make sure you know their whereabouts at all time. Know what they are comfortable with and establish an open policy of operation.
